Required Application Materials

Select each requirement below for additional information.

Principal or School Counselor Recommendation Due January 9

Through the application portal, applicants will email this recommendation request to the individual best suited to provide an overall recommendation and upload academic records. For most applicants, this will be a school guidance counselor.

Pastor or Personal Recommendation Due January 9

As a Catholic school, Bishop Stang prefers a recommendation from the applicant’s pastor. If this is not possible, applicants may select another individual who can provide a meaningful character reference.

English Language Arts Teacher Recommendation Due January 9

Applicants will use the application portal to email a recommendation request to their current English Language Arts teacher.

Mathematics Teacher Recommendation Due January 9

Applicants will use the application portal to email a recommendation request to their current mathematics teacher.

Standardized Test Results Grade 9 Applicants

Grade 9 applicants are not required to submit a secondary school placement exam. Bishop Stang does require results from a recent standardized test, such as MAP, MCAS, PSAT, RICAP, SSAT, or STAR.

These results are usually available through the student’s current school. If the student has not completed standardized testing within the past year, the Admissions Office will determine whether an assessment is needed for course placement.

Admissions Interview Grades 10 through 12

An interview is required for applicants entering grades 10 through 12. The Admissions Office will schedule the interview after receiving the completed application.
