The Sound of Music at Bishop Stang

The Bishop Stang Theatre Company proudly presents Rodgers and Hammerstein's beloved musical, The Sound of Music. Transporting audience members to the enchanting hills of Austria, this musical masterpiece features unforgettable melodies such as "Edelweiss," "My Favorite Things," and "Do-Re-Mi."

The cast and crew of The Sound of Music have dedicated countless hours to bringing this beloved story to life. From the soaring hills to the grandeur of the von Trapp family home, every detail has been meticulously crafted to immerse the audience in the magic of this classic tale. In a special turn of fate, Owen Dias and Emmerson Palumbo were children in The Sound of Music the last time the show was mounted at Bishop Stang; they return to the same stage years later as Captain Von Trapp and Maria.

There are three performances of The Sound of Music -- Thursday, April 25, Friday, April 26, and Saturday, April 27, all starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are priced at $12 for adults and $10 for students, children, and senior citizens. This show is great for the whole family and suitable for children of all ages; however, there is another event for those worried about children’s bedtimes.

The cast and crew of The Sound of Music also present “Do-Re-Tea,” a sing-a-long matinee for children ages 3-12. It includes a shortened version of the show with a sing-a-long and tea time while you meet the cast. The event runs $10 a person from 12-2 p.m. on April 27th.

Whether joining us for a full performance of The Sound of Music or participating in the sing-a-long festivities of "Do-Re-Tea at Bishop Stang," the entire cast and crew are thrilled to welcome you! The performances of The Sound of Music and "Do-Re-Tea at Bishop Stang" will be held in the John C. O'Brien gymnasium at Bishop Stang High School, 500 Slocum Rd., North Dartmouth, MA. Tickets for all evening and matinee performances can be purchased online using the QR code or at the door. For inquiries, please contact the school at (508) 996-5602.
