Victoria Raposo is a senior from Westport, MA and went to St. James - St. John School from Preschool to 8th grade. Victoria feels that attending Bishop Stang has been an amazing blessing in her life. As a freshman, she decided to become as involved as possible and joined many extracurricular activities, including cheerleading, softball, peer mentors, student ambassadors, campus ministry, National Honor Society, and many others. Victoria moved into leadership positions in these activities, including the secretary of the student ambassador committee in which she enjoys speaking to prospective parents and students.
Victoria's favorite activity, however, was peer tutoring. As a freshman, she started tutoring students in Portuguese and has continued to do so to this day. Victoria mentions that this volunteer experience has helped her realize her calling in life. Entering her senior year, Victoria applied to Stonehill College, Roger Williams University and Bridgewater State University. She plans to continue making a difference as she attends Bridgewater State University in an elementary education major with a concentration in special education beginning this fall.
Victoria is a very involved both at school and in her community. She enjoys helping children as she is a Catechist Aid at her parish, St. Julie Billiart. Community service has been a vital part in Victoria’s life and she plans to continue well after high school and beyond. Victoria quotes that “Bishop Stang has been the most amazing blessing in my life. Not only has it taught me how to be a great student, but it has also helped form me into the young woman I am today. The teachers, faculty and staff are all absolutely amazing people and each and every one of them have had a profound impact on my high school career. Bishop Stang is a family and I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of this forever.”
