Girls Field Hockey is off to a good start tying in their opening match against Bishop Fenwick. Standard-Times sports reporter Laurie Los writes "After struggling to win many games last year, the Spartans are looking forward to this fall with the majority of their players returning with more experience and higher hopes". Boys Soccer: Standard-Times reporter Brandon Kurie notes that Fall soccer this year is anything but ordinary, which might not be a bad thing for Bishop Stang. Coach Nate Greene says that "the strength of our team is our skill. I think the game is going to be played on the ground more, which will suit us.” The boys won their first game against Arlington Catholic and are being led by two of the "Standard-Times Players to Watch", Senior Declan Markey and Sophomore Carter Dennis.
