International Students

Currently, 10 international students are attending Bishop Stang High School adding a wonderful diversity and global perspective to our student body. While primarily drawn by the rigorous academic program and college acceptance opportunities, most students thoroughly enjoy the welcoming family atmosphere and options to participle in co-curricluar activities and programs.

2019-2020 International Student Tuition: $12,800.00
International Student Fees (includes books, uniforms, school lunch and school supplies): $3,700.00
Total International Student Tuition & Fees: $16,500.00

International students who will live with a parent or immediate family member/guardian in the U.S. while attending Bishop Stang, may apply through the domestic student application process. Families are asked to first contact Mrs. Payette, before beginning the process.

International students who will not live with a parent or immediate family member/guardian in the U.S. while attending Bishop Stang, must be placed with a host family from within our school community. These students must apply through one of the following international student placement service companies:

  • International Student Education Services (ISES), contact JJ Johnson 610-718-5594
  • EduBoston, contact, 617-254-1117 (English) or 217-819-8701 (Chinese)

Host Families:
Bishop Stang works with three international student placement agencies; EduBoston, International Student Educational Services, and New Oasis, who help us welcome students from China.  Each student is placed in a host family from within our school community while attending Bishop Stang.  EduBoston, International Student Educational Services, New Oasis, and our school International Student Coordinator, Ms. Nora Hebshie, provide ongoing support to students and host families throughout the year.

  • Students generally arrive in mid-August and return home after final exams in June.

  • Host families are compensated $1100 per month for providing a private bedroom (with a study space) and board.

  • Additional expectations include; providing a welcoming environment, treating the student as a member of the family (by assigning chores, rules, and privileges consistent with other family members), transportation to and from school and general support.

  • While the students usually plan to graduate from Bishop Stang, we ask that host families consider this a yearly commitment only.  At the end of the year, host families decide if they would like to continue with the program or not.

Please contact Ms. Nora Hebshie ( or 508-996-5602 x468) for additional information if you have any questions and are interested in hosting.
