Our morning mass schedule is Tuesday, Thrusday, and Friday at 7:15am.

Happy Winter Vacation To all Our Students.  Classes will resume on February 26, Day 1 Cycle 1.

Students - you should be speaking with your teachers regarding any questions you may have about course selection for next year.  Your counselor is also available.  Make sure you login to Parentsweb with your parents/guardians to select your courses by February 28th.

Any Senior Boys interested in participating in the Mr. Stang competition this year there will be a meeting during break time today in room 213.  Please see Mr. LeVie if you cannot make the meeting.

Coach Burakowski - Track and Field Athletes, please turn in your uniform in the art room even if you plan to run outdoor track in the spring.

Gifts to Give - Is in desperate need of Boys and Girls undergarments, socks, childrens toothbrushes and toothpaste, these donations need to be new and in original package.   THANK YOU!    We will be collecting donations throughout the month of February.  If you are able to contribute to this worthy cause, please place your donation in the back of room 307.

Heart Book Drive FIAT in April - please pick up a sheet with directions in Room 104.  Mrs. Silva would appreciate any help even if you do not need FIAT credits.

Pro Life Club- is sponsoring a collection of baby supplies to support A Woman's Concern, a pro-life pregnancy center that serves the Southcoast.  The drive begins on Monday, January 29 to Friday, February March 2.  Items can be placed  in the box in the main lobby or in Ms. Murphy's room, 212.   Thank you for your generosity.

Fundraiser for Immigrants' Assistance Center, raising awareness for the situation of young immigrants - DACA Recipients - Please come for an event at the Greasy Luck Downtown New Bedford on February 24, lots of entertainment by local Stang graduates, Zan Morrissey, Zoe Morrissey, with their brothers Henri and Wilson, also many Stang graduates musicians, Tom O'Leary, Joaquim Santos, Marcus Monteiro, Jay Kelly and Putman Murdock.   Students who volunteer at the event will be eligible for FIAT credits.

Attention Stringed Instrument Musicians - during the second semester the String Club will meet during Flex time every Day 6.  All are welcome, please see Mr. Copps to get a pass, and plan to play on Thursday.

Bishop Stang water bottles are HERE!   You can purchase one from Mrs. Pelletier in the business office for $5.

Advancement Office - The Spartan Calendar Raffle is underway.  We have awarded over $4,000!  But that means, there is still over $10,000 yet to be won!  Students who have sold 8 calendars will have the day off on Friday, March 9, and it's not too late.   You can still sell calendars to earn the day off as long as you turn in the payment and cards as soon as possible.  If you need more calendars, stop by the Advancement Office.

NHS Announcements

Attention Junior and sophomore nominees to the National Honor Society:

Nomination letters for sophomores and juniors eligible for membership in the National Honor Society are being distributed this morning during homeroom.  Each nominee who is interested in pursuing selection must attend the meeting today, check in to Homeroom then report to the far end of the Cafe.  During the meeting Mrs. McDougal will outline the process for selection to NHS. Nominees are asked to bring a device to the meeting.  If you wish to pursue your nomination, you must attend the meeting.

 

ATHLETICS

Recent Events:

Boys Hockey lost 1-0 to Saint John Paul II. Our eight seniors have done a tremendous job all year. Look for our Spartans in the state Tournament next week!

Girls Basketball beat Bourne 54-48 on Senior recognition night for Mollie Duclos, Nora Markey & Lilly Syron. Rylie Carreau had 22 points, Caroline King had 13, Duclos had 7, and Markey & Syron had 6 each.

Congratulations to sophomore, Amber Lattuca, who will run in the 300 m All State Finals at the Reggie Lewis Center on Saturday, February 24.

 

Wednesday Events

Boys Basketball plays vs Apponequet in the Finals of the Mitch Kuliga Tournament at 5:30 pm. The game is at Apponequet High School. All tickets will be sold at the door.

 

Friday Events

Girls Hockey hosts Cohasset at Hetland Rink in the final game of the regular season on Friday, at 3:00 pm. Good luck to our Girls!
