Bishop Stang Cares for God’s Creation
The Bishop Stang High School recently held their Freshman Wellness Day, where they were inspired by a day of service. My Brother's Keeper, Dartmouth and St. Anthony's Food Pantry, New Bedford, spoke with the students on campus. The freshmen then traveled to volunteer at Gifts to Give in Acushnet and spent the afternoon at the YMCA Sharing the Harvest Community Farm in Dartmouth.
Two weeks later the Bishop Stang faculty and staff spent the afternoon of their professional development day at the YMCA Farm as well. The Stang educators harvested over 1250 pounds of produce, equaling about 5,000 servings, which will feed people in need in our own community.
