Alumni Update

Heather Sylvia, Bishop Stang class of 1995, was selected as a 2021 Commonwealth Heroine by the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women.

Heather is Acushnet's Council on Aging Director and, in addition to her long-standing leadership in community service, has spent this difficult period during the pandemic increasing the availability & accessibility of services to residents. She spearheaded a USDA Farm to Families program enabling 637 families to receive healthy meals. She volunteered assisting with COVID-19 testing clinics as well as mobile vaccination efforts, and assisted seniors with keeping safe and engaged during the lonely months of lock-downs. Heather truly embodies the Bishop Stang mission of service as well as our theme this year to "Be the Light".
