International Students

Students:
Currently, 20 international students are attending Bishop Stang High School adding a wonderful diversity and global perspective to our student body. While primarily drawn by the rigorous academic program and college acceptance opportunities, most students thoroughly enjoy the welcoming family atmosphere and options to participle in co-curricluar activities and programs.

2017-2018 International Student Tuition: $11,950.00
International Student Fees (includes books, uniforms, school lunch and school supplies): $3,700.00
Total International Student Tuition & Fees: $15,650.00

International students who will live with a parent or immediate family member/guardian in the U.S. while attending Bishop Stang, may apply through the domestic student application process. Families are asked to first contact Mrs. Payette, before beginning the process.

International students who will not live with a parent or immediate family member/guardian in the U.S. while attending Bishop Stang, must be placed with a host family from within our school community. These students must apply through one of the following international student placement service companies:

  • International Student Education Services (ISES), contact Diane Andres, 610-718-5594
  • EduBoston, contact, 617-254-1117 (English) or 217-819-8701 (Chinese)

Host Families:
Any current Bishop Stang High School family or friend who would be interested in learning about the opportunity to become an International Student Host Family are asked to contact Ms. Nora Hebshie, International Student Coordinator, 508-996-5602 x468.

  • Students generally arrive in mid-August and return home after final exams in June.
  • Host families are compensated $1000 per month for providing a private bedroom (with a study space) and board.
  • Additional expectations include: providing a welcoming environment, treating the student as a member of the family (by assigning chores, rules, and privileges consistent with other family members), transportation to and from school and general support.
  • While the students usually plan to graduate from Bishop Stang, we ask that host families consider this a yearly commitment only. At the end of the year, host families and students will decide if they would like to continue with the program or not.

Please contact Ms. Nora Hebshie with any questions. An international student host family information session will be held in the spring of 2018 (date TBA). Please contact Ms. Hebshie if you are interested in attending this meeting.
